TrackTreads have released the Component Rebuild Centre as the latest module in their Undercarriage Management Tool Kit to support their customers increasing need to manage their equipment. The Component Rebuild Centre includes multiple inspections as the core of the management process commencing with: –
Stage 1. Pre and Post Shipment inspection – to verify what component are being shipped to the repairer
Stage 2 Disassembly process – the existing component is disassembled and cleaned ready for detailed assessment
Stage 3 Detailed Inspection – every aspect of the component and its subcomponents is examined against OEM specifications looking at bore diameters, alignment, sacrificial wear material thickness, presence of cracks and their length, and condition of replacement sub-components.
These detailed inspections are carried out in the workshop using a tablet or phone with the data and images being synced with the web platform for further analysis, reporting and dashboard summary. All invested parties being able to view the information and images
Stage 4 – Development of a SOW – each sub-component is assessed for the labour and materials required to either replace, rebuild to bring it back to as new standard.
Stage 5. Work-In-Progress Inspections – The work can now commence after authorisations are given where required. Each step of the rebuild process on each sub-component is recorded by Work-In-Progress Inspections with images and comments providing a full audit trail of rebuild measurements compared with OEM specifications.
Stage 6. Finalisation and Shipping Home – once all rebuild steps are completed and the final coat of paint is dry, the component looks bright and ready for its new life. It can be loaded and shipped followed by the electronic record of the entire process which is then always available for scrutiny should the needs arise
Digitising the system comes with many advantages, to name but a few:-
Increase in Efficiency – reporting is quicker and instantly available, not requiring hours of preparation. All images and comments are included
Dashboard Summary – provides a picture of all projects currently in progress with % completion, costs and drill down detail.
Rebuild becomes a Template for Future Rebuilds – each rebuild is based on a standard template developed and provides visibility and comparison of costs, hours to complete and detailed specifications to work to.
