Inspecting Undercarriage is not solely to measure components. It’s about creating a complete picture frozen at a point in time over the life of the Undercarriage. This picture must use images abundantly. Images replace a thousand words.
Other points of interest help to complete the picture such as highlighting:
- Loose or missing bolts
- Machine balance, too much weight on front or rear of machine
- Final drive temperature
- Idler rise height
- Leaking rollers and other components
- Missing hardware or worn chain guides
- Bogie pad condition
- Equaliser bar condition
